THIS. SHIT. MAKES ME BEYOND LIVID 😡😤😖 Like, I do not want to even FATHOM an America where women are put to death because they couldn't afford to have a child or they just didn't feel it was the right time in their lives to be able to take care of a baby.
The act of public atonement they are seeking is passage of a bill that would criminalize abortion without exception, and make it possible to convict women who undergo the procedure of homicide, which can carry the death penalty in Texas. Though it faces steep odds of becoming law, the measure earned a hearing this week amid a larger legislative push in GOP-controlled states to curtail abortion rights, in a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade.
There is another quote in this article that makes my blood boil... the man who introduced the bill:

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! As if women aren't already blamed ENOUGH for all the shitty things men should also be taking equal responsibility for, let's add another one to the list! I cannot put into words the RAGE SPIRAL this quote puts me in!
The ONLY thing that prevents me from picking up and moving somewhere that actually respects and celebrates the autonomy of women is this👇quote... and the lack of money.

I will say this AGAIN, and I will never stop screaming this until it finally gets through to these people... IF YOU ARE PRO-CHOICE IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU WANT MORE ABORTIONS!! You CANNOT say you want to eliminate abortions and in the same breath say you don't want proper sex education in schools or access to birth control and contraception!! BECAUSE access to those two things would prevent MOST abortions.
